Humanistic Buddhism Services

Fo Guang Shan Singapore officially established the "Fo Guang Compassion and Care Team" in 2014, with the aim of supporting the underprivileged through diverse charitable outreach efforts. The team is dedicated to bringing warmth and joy to those in need — including the poor, the disabled, and other vulnerable groups in society.

Upholding the Buddhist spirit of compassion, the team actively reaches out to the community by promoting various charitable initiatives. Its services are extended to all, regardless of race, language, or religious belief, embodying the spirit of Humanistic Buddhism — unconditional loving-kindness, impartial compassion. We believe that every act of kindness has the power to illuminate someone’s life, creating a more harmonious and beautiful society.

Fo Guang Student Care has been operating since January 2, 2015, with the aim of providing a learning environment that helps cultivate wholesome character for graduates of the Ci Ai Education Incubator, children from low-income families, and students from nearby schools. Such an environment is vital for the physical and mental growth and development of children.

Fo Guang Student Care is committed to nurturing children's self-esteem and independence, cultivating their ability to think critically and put into practice, enhancing their sensitivity to love, and encouraging mutual respect in their interactions with others.

Through the practice of the "Three Acts of Goodness" — doing good deeds, speaking good words, and thinking good thoughts — as well as the "Four Givings" — giving others confidence, joy, hope, and convenience — Fo Guang Student Care encourages children to build self-confidence, learn honesty, and develop a sense of responsibility, thereby fostering the growth of a wholesome and well-rounded character.
